EDC IFAK

Talking about every day first aid carry, attached are pictures of the items we recommend every time you leave the house. Whether I’m in shorts or jeans, cargo pockets, or whatever keep all of these things handy.

First: A CAT tourniquet attached to a pair of Prestige Medical trauma shears with fluoride.  Also don’t go cheap on TQ’s. The tan one I like is a Recon Medical TANTQTourniquet from Amazon. The shears are Prestige Medical Prestige Medical Fluoride Scissor, Black, 7 1/2 Inch, also from Amazon, but local uniform shops do carry them as well.

The pouch you can find on Amazon under Tactical MOLLE Pouch, Universal Mobile Phone Belt Pouch EDC Pouch Belt Loops Waist Bag for iPhone.

The package of Blood Stop comes in a box at Walmart, as do the two white Abd Pads. I think those are roughly 8×7 folded and can work on most any kind of wound, and can pack a belly wound if you get them a little damp first.

The two Hyfin chest seals I buy wherever they’re the cheapest. Sometimes it’s Amazon, sometimes it’s Tactical Sh*t.

The gloves are just thicker surgical gloves that used to be sterile, and the silver Vaseline Gauze is harder to get, but can be a substitute for a chest seal when necessary.

Finally is the SWAT T Tourniquet. It makes for a great wrap, tourniquet and general tape replacement when I can get away with it. Just know it’s strong rubber and built to be a tourniquet. We use the same material in the operating room as a tourniquet or vaso compressor.
