SALUTE is an acronym to help militia members to capture complete information about an opposing force observed while on patrol. The details of a SALUTE report are:

SIZE of element – number of troops observed
ACTIVITY – What is the unit under observation doing? Bivouacked, moving north, repairing equipment, loading vehicles etc.
LOCATION – Where is the element being observed located.
UNIT – Which unit of the opposing force is represented
TIME – When was the opposing element observed
EQUIPMENT – Report on gear, such as vehicles, weapons etc.

Good SALUTE reports will allow command to develop a clear picture of the threat of opposing forces in the area. Follow the SOI codes to prevent opposing forces from learning what you are reporting on them.

L.A.C.E. Reports

LACE is an acronym to help militia members report on the status of their team. The details of a LACE report are:

LIQUID – Sufficient fluids are critical for a patrol, and how much liquid is available within the element is reported.
AMMO – Ammunition is obviously important to combat effectiveness.
CASUALTIES – Report how many casualties your element has.
EQUIPMENT – Review and make sure your equipment is still able to be used for the mission.

When sending your LACE report, follow the SOI codes to prevent opposing forces from gaining intelligence on your unit.
